What if transforming your failures into successes isn't about trusting your gut but analyzing cold, hard data? Ivy Chen shares three pivotal experiences in her twenties: getting expelled from university, steering a startup through near-bankruptcy during the pandemic, and decoding the complexities of love. Discover how data is more than just numbers. It's the raw materials for actionable self-reflection. Learn how being data-driven can help you distinguish what you can control from what you cannot and guide you through life's most critical moments. Ivy has dedicated the past decade to building startups and investing in the restaurant and retail sectors. She holds a Bachelor of Commerce and is currently pursuing an MBA. As the Co-Founder and Chief Growth Officer at CMEOW, Canada's pioneering Asian food delivery app, Ivy has led the company to generate over $100 million in revenue.

As a second-generation immigrant, Ivy's inspiration for CMEOW stemmed from a heartfelt desire to bridge cultural gaps within the community, promote the exploration of Asian cuisine and create a sense of belonging for immigrants through the universal language of food. In early 2020, CMEOW transitioned from food delivery to last-mile delivery, helping local businesses ship products using enterprise-grade technology and services across 24 Canadian cities. Ivy's achievements include the Ted Rogers School of Management Alumni "Top 10 from the Last 10" Award, Telus #StandWithOwners Award, and Top 5 Finalist for the Young Entrepreneur of the Year Award in 2022 This talk was given at a TEDx event using the TED conference format but independently organized by a local community.
