Описание к видео 🚨 FLOOD EMERGENCY! South Africa’s Kruger National Park & Limpopo Under Water

Chaos in South Africa Today! Giant Flooding Swept Away Homes in Kruger Limpopo

The Limpopo Province in South Africa is currently facing one of its most severe meteorological crises in decades. Following weeks of relentless torrential rainfall exacerbated by a persistent low-pressure system over the southern African interior, vast swathes of the province have been submerged, leading to a humanitarian and infrastructural emergency of unprecedented proportions. This sudden deluge has caused the Limpopo, Levubu, and Letaba rivers to breach their banks, sending walls of water into residential settlements and agricultural heartlands. The human cost of the floods is rising. Local authorities have confirmed at least 24 fatalities, with several individuals still reported missing after being swept away by fast-moving currents or trapped in collapsed structures. Displaced residents are currently being housed in temporary shelters, including community halls and churches, provided by the Department of Social Development. The infrastructure damage is estimated to run into billions of Rands. Key transit points, including sections of the N1 highway—the vital artery connecting South Africa to Zimbabwe and the rest of the SADC region—have been intermittently closed due to sinkholes and debris. More than 40 bridges have been washed away or deemed structurally unsound, effectively isolating rural villages from essential services. The resilience of the people of Limpopo is being tested as they begin to pick up the pieces of their shattered lives amidst a landscape transformed by water. Meanwhile, The province of Mpumalanga, South Africa’s "Place of the Rising Sun," is currently grappling with a catastrophic flooding event that has left communities isolated, infrastructure decimated, and agricultural lands under meters of water. The Ehlanzeni District, which includes the provincial capital of Mbombela and the border towns near Mozambique, has been the hardest hit. The Crocodile, Komati, and Sabie rivers have all exceeded their "1-in-50-year" flood levels, turning vast landscapes into inland seas. Meanwhile, Large parts of central and southern Mozambique have been plunged into a state of emergency following a week of relentless torrential rainfall. Over 50,000 people have been affected, with approximately 15,000 currently seeking refuge in temporary accommodation centers established in schools and government buildings. "The situation is heartbreaking," said a Red Cross volunteer in Boane. "People have lost their livestock, their crops, and their homes in a single night. We are struggling to provide enough clean water and sanitation to prevent an outbreak of Cholera."
