36 Xposures is on a mission to promote the craft and process of photography and showcase the unique techniques and styles of photography through engaging storytelling and learning experiences

In the 36 Xposures film series, our goal is to make the craft of photography accessible to everyone. Whether it is to share the appreciation of photography with other photographers, to improve your own work, or to simply have a better understanding of the nuances of the skills and thought process of the craft of photography.

These short Xplain Moment segments are excerpts from the longer episode of each photographer as they challenge themselves to a photo shoot where they have the constraints of time (30 minutes) and number of exposures they can take (36 exposures).

They all have the same model and location to photograph in but have the opportunity to make the photo shoot their own through their choices of wardrobe, hairstyle, camera type (film, digital, 35mm, medium format etc) and of course, their poses, use of the natural light and the space.

The photographers are from different backgrounds in photography with a variety of interests, style and levels of professional work. What they share is a passion for photography as we aim to build a better understanding of the elements of the craft of photography.
