In this clip from 1965, Delia Derbyshire spoke to Tomorrow's world about how she and her team created music and sound effects for shows such as Dr Who.

Delia Derbyshire was one of the unsung pioneers of electronic music sometimes referred to as the sculptress of sound. She is also one of the people directly responsible for the Dr Who theme music. Sadly she passed away in 2001, but I strongly suggest you read up on her and her amazing work in the industry.

I have done my best to edit some of the harsher sound effects so that we can better listen to Delia Derbyshire's voice.
