Homemade Jaffa Cakes

Jaffa cakes, a treat from my childhood. McVitie's invented Jaffa cakes in 1929 - they were named after the Jaffa oranges that the jelly filling/topping was made from. The 'cake' part of the name is maybe a bit misleading - it's like a Genoise sponge, but a bit harder. Anyway, the Jaffa cake is a brilliant combination of a sponge base, orange jelly 'filling' topped with dark chocolate. It's surprisingly easy to make Jaffa Cakes at home.
