Why it feels “impossible” to “make it” as a musician sometimes…

This is a metaphor I used in my longer video “The Simple Habit That Saved My Failing Music Career”

In that video, I elaborate on this metaphor and explain that there are newer strategies these days to help “breakthrough.” I also emphasize that the meaning of “breaking through” varies for everyone, and is a fluid concept. For some, it may mean topping the charts, for others it may mean being able to pay rent while doing music.

In any case, I think music is a very demanding path because it really involves a ton of hard work (often while seeing little to no progress), strategies that fit the generation (that are often not as music-related), and some luck as well. Sounds pretty basic, but sometimes to sit back and thing about this can help put both our successes and setbacks into better perspective as we move onward.
