Описание к видео Random Acts of Djent

‪@Blackmoon0-1-0‬
This album is a sample of some of my first works (Aligning Forces, The Zero Effect) to some of my latest (New City Buzzkill and The Dragon's Fall / Dragon's Ascension).
So... What is Djent? Djent is a term coined by Meshuggah guitarist Fredrik Thordendal to describe the guitar sound of some progressive metal bands. It is characterized by palm-muted chords, syncopated riffs, polymeters and extended range guitars. What I love about it is the energy, the unpredictability. Having said that, Djent can be a little hard to listen to for extended periods of time... it's like everyone in the band playing as hard and fast as they can, all turned up to '11'. After a while, I'm tired... I just don't want to listen anymore.
This is where this album comes into play.
What I love about working with Suno is the ability to combine and mix wildly different genres, dynamics, and instrumentation. Throw a Flamenco-style acoustic solo into the middle of a metal masterpiece. Combine it with Jazz, or vocals, or country, 70’s Funk or shoegaze space rock... there is no limit.

THE SONGS:

I originally planned on 13 tracks plus a bonus track, but didn't want to cut several out. So, what you have before you is 15+1.
1. Eyes in the Mist came from an editing session of another song. I liked the dynamic changes and keyboards, and the grand feel of it.
2. Camino a la Perdición was one of the first songs I composed with the subtle keyboard changes and Spanish Flamenco feel. It was one of the first songs that I began to realize the potential of genre bending. That, along with El Camino Perdido (6) and Sonoran Desert Nights (10) complete the trio.
3. Dragon's Ascension and the Dragon's Fall were originally the same work, but editing and mixing brought about two completely different works, each with its own feel.
4. Travelling is a straight-forward rocker with dual guitars and a lighter, happier feel. Perfect for the drive home on a Friday afternoon.
5. Stevie Wonder was a huge influence on me growing up, and his seminal 1976 double album (plus a mini disc) Songs in the Key of Life continues to influence me, especially in terms of composition. Listen to Another Star, listen to Sir Duke, listen to Isn't She Lovely. Then go listen to Contusion. The raw virtuosity, lyrics, and vastly different musical styles forever changed what I would consider putting together on an album. Songs in the Key of Asia Minor is a tribute to that influence, especially the track Contusion.
6. Toro, Toro, Taxi is another dynamic song with a lot of tempo changes and a great feel.
8, 9, &11. Working Day, The Zero Effect, and Aligning Forces are 3 very early tracks that were pivotal to me in terms of realizing the capabilities and virtuosity of this new platform
12. New City Buzzkill is one of my newer compositions and turns the tempo down a little bit. Almost a jazz feel to it.
13. Bongwater, Washington. This was originally intended for another upcoming album, The Diary of Pamela Xix. I really love the feel of it, especially the guitar's melody line. It's probably one of teh songs I'm most proud of how it turned out... definitely a favorite.
15. ...to The Finish. I would have just kept adding songs, but I knew I needed to stop somewhere. This song has that 'last song on the album' feel, summing up a little of everything on the album.
BONUS: Forge The Chain. Because who doesn't love a bonus track? I wanted to show a little of what we could do lyrically. I wrote the lyrics with the help of several AI programs, fleshing out and elaborating on my original lyrics. This song will be on the next (planned) album release, Shredding Difficult Times, which will be a little more straight forward rock, and about 80% lyrical... i still like the occasional instrumental thrown in there...
