Joe Penner and Dick Lane in "The Day the Bookies Wept"

Описание к видео Joe Penner and Dick Lane in "The Day the Bookies Wept"

Dick Lane and Tom Kennedy join Joe Penner in this scene from RKO's well-reviewed but rarely seen 1939 racetrack comedy, "The Day the Bookies Wept." Penner plays Ernie Ambrose, a Brooklyn cab driver (and pigeon trainer) who has no interest in playing the ponies. In this scene, the fast-talking Dick Lane (as Ambrose's prospective brother-in-law and fellow cabbie Ramsey Firpo) pulls out the stops to trick Penner into buying a race horse...in Kentucky.
