In 2015, 51 Bangladesh enclaves became part of India and 111 Indian enclaves became part of Bangladesh. There are approx 8000 registered voters in the enclaves that became part of India.
Mashaldanga is one such enclave where dwellers will be voting in a full fledged Lok Sabha elections for the first time though they had participated in the electoral process in 2016 in the Coochbehar by-elections. ThePrint's Moushumi Das Gupta goes to Mashaldanga and Alipurduar to know what problems the dwellers are facing and will they support Mamata Banerjee or Modi in the 2019 Lok Sabha elections.
