Perfect weather coupled with a desire to summit all 3 peaks led us to the Olomana trailhead early afternoon. Our late departure was a result of an extensive search for size 14 hiking shoes; Christian had traveled to Hawaii from Bermuda with only a pair of flip-flops.

With fresh tread underfoot, we set off.

The trail wound upward through lush vegetation and scenic outlooks. We separated paths to hike at our own pace. I summited the first peak to fly the drone while waiting for Christian. 45 minutes later, Christian emerged on the summit, thinking he had reached the third peak.

After a quick snack, we decided there was no going back and we were destined to set foot on the top of the third peak. We hope you enjoy this video and feel like you are coming along on the journey with us.

P.S. There was a point in the journey not captured on film where Christian decided he was going to spend the night on the first peak. After a long pep talk, we carried on back down to the trailhead with the sun setting on us and darkness creeping in. These are days you never forget!
