Winner of the 1988 Pulitzer Prize for Drama, this beloved American classic tells the quietly powerful story of an unexpected friendship between Daisy Werthan, a strong-willed Jewish widow, and Hoke Coleburn. Set against the backdrop of a changing American South, the play unfolds over 25 years, exploring themes of dignity, race, aging, loneliness, empathy, and friendship with warmth, humor, and profound humanity.
