A song I wrote about leaving behind your life to move on and start a new life somewhere else. I wrote the original lyrics in 1978 when I was leaving Toronto at 17 years of age, after sitting in the bus depot awaiting my departure. I wrote the music in 2009 and recorded the song in 2011 with my Sons, Mathias on drums, Cody on bass and vocals, and myself on guitar, keys, vocals.

We played the song live, but I overdubbed the studio version because it sounded much better, plus it has all the harmonies on it as well. That, and the fact that we played it pretty much on time, so it lined up near perfectly with my mouth! I kept the integrity of the music / lyrics in line with the spirit of the times in which the song was written ... bands such as Boston, Foreigner, Kansas, Styx, Queen, KISS and others were poular at the time, so you may hear some of those elements in the song, although the main idea behind the song was inspired by RUSH'S, Fly By Night. The song came on the radio / jukebox in the cafe in the bus depot as I was sitting there wating and so I borrowed a pen and some paper from the waitress and wrote down the lyrics in about 10 minutes ... it only took me 31 years to finish the song! It is the first song / lyrics I ever wrote at age 17. I had big dreams and stars in my eyes who would've known then, that at 50 years old, I'd still be dreaming the dream.
