Why Indonesia Attacked the Federation of Malaysia

After the British agreed to Malaysia becoming an independent state, a conflict with Indonesia started. The British wanted this new federation to include all their former colonies, including those on the island of Borneo. But Indonesia sought to unite all Malay speaking people and this included the former British colonies on Borneo.

This is the Indonesian confrontation, or Konfrontasi, with Hindsight.
