One evening, after watching a video about blue whales, the biggest animals on Earth, AumSum’s imagination bubbled up with a wild question. What if a whale swallowed him?

In his mind, AumSum was suddenly floating on a tiny raft in the middle of the ocean. The waves gently rocked him while seabirds circled overhead. Everything was peaceful until the water began to churn. A massive shadow rose beneath the surface. It was huge. Bigger than a bus. Bigger than his school. It was a whale.

Before he could blink, the whale opened its mouth wide. AumSum knew blue whales didn't chew their food. They simply gulped giant mouthfuls of water, then pushed it out, keeping only the tiny creatures like krill inside. But somehow, in this imaginary moment, AumSum and his raft were scooped up along with a cloud of fish and water.

Suddenly, everything went dark. The world outside disappeared as he tumbled into the whale’s mouth. Water rushed past him, and he clung to his raft tightly. He didn’t feel bitten or crushed. Just... swallowed.

Inside, it was damp and echoey. AumSum was drifting through the whale’s massive throat. He floated deeper into the dark belly of the beast. It was warm and squishy inside. Bits of seaweed and plankton floated nearby.

He thought about how long he could last in there. There wasn’t much oxygen, and it was pretty stuffy. He figured he had a few hours before he’d really need to escape. Then he remembered something clever - whales spout air through their blowholes.

In his mind, he climbed upward. Just as he reached the top, there was a loud whoosh. Air rushed through the blowhole, and AumSum imagined being blasted into the sky like a rocket, flipping and flopping before splashing back into the ocean with a huge grin.
