Hello this is Stewart and I'd like to show you, this is a lawn that I just aerated, seeded and fertilized. It's actually a neat little backyard here I'm just outside Mill Creek proper and the problem this client has is as you see the small backyard they have all these great, big evergreen trees. Acidly from the needles kills grass. We could try thatching here but I don't care what kinda grass that we put back here, the needles in the shade will kill it. The technique I am using is just aerating seeding and fertilizing. Since I've been doing this it's come back really really nice. This is as bad as it gets. It used to look really really bad and now it's very very presentable compared to how it used to look. It'll look really nice hear in about 4 weeks’ time. This is just a really neat little backyard here he's gonna neat little set up here that's his and I'm using a 70/30 perennial ryegrass to fescue and it's worked out really really well here I just wanted I just want to show this to you just a little unique. I've been a lot of different yards I really enjoy the business that I'm in. I'm a turf person I've been to horticulture school, but I eat, breathe and drink turf. The fertilizer I'm using on here's a 16-15-15 today it is 60 percent slow-release. I have recommended to this client to put on organic fertilizer here in four to six weeks. This is not for color this is for health of the soil. It's to get all the microbial activity working and stuff like that, it helps keep out moss. It's just for the health of the soil If you take care of the soil, I found it will take care of the plant and in my case the plant happens to be a lawn. A good way to think about something like that, you see all these little blades of grass out here? A good way to think about that is it's all a forest but just a lot smaller so when you're looking at your lawn go on out there and see how your lawn mower's cutting. Just get down there and take a look and see; have you got shaggy blades? Is it cutting cleanly or is it really poorly cut and leaving places for fungus, parasites and diseases to get on in there?
