You’re going to need the header wrap so you’re not replacing a starter every few months because your engine bay will get hotter than it used to. And it will prevent your engine from constantly overheating.

A regular starter won’t fit, I recommend clamping the exhaust at the end of the headers so it’s easier to pull the starter if it dies.

The engine mounts are there for the same reason as the header wrap, the stock engine mounts (especially if the ones you have are original) will likely break due to excessive heat they aren’t designed for. Your idle will be a little rough but it’s totally normal, once you’re moving you won’t feel anything. You can pick anyone you want that can withstand the heat, I just chose these ones.

The EGR block off kit is necessary because the exhaust system isn’t exactly emissions compliant.

Final words

I posted this after replacing the battery, the previous one was rated much lower, CCA was like 650, now its 830. Also has a new fuel pump because after the exhaust and misfire were fixed/repaired, my fuel pump died a week later out of nowhere. It was already rebuilt so rebuilding wasn’t an option. Right now all my Camaro needs is an AC repair, new window motors, dashboard, and headliner.
