The Canon RF 35mm F1.8 Macro IS STM lens has been in my bag for over a year now and helped me photograph many Minnesota weddings and Florida engagement sessions. I mostly use it for the detail and ring photos at the beginning of a wedding day. It is very sharp, has great color, and beautiful bokeh. Lightweight and compact, I also love taking it on vacations and trips. My main concern with the lens is the ineffective image stabilizer. It doesn't seem to reduce camera shake when I take macro photos. I still use a shutter speed of at least 1/80th or the photos show motion blur. But with upcoming Canon cameras that will include IBIS, that hopefully will not be an issue. If you are looking for a backup to the EF 35mm f/1.4 II or if you are new to the R system and looking for a great starter lens, I couldn't recommend this lens more highly!
