Today on our 2016 BMW X1, we're gonna be taking a look at and showing you how to install the Concha T1 vehicle wiring harness with four pole flat trailer connector. Part number 118717. This is what our wiring looks like when it's installed. This is going to give us a proper lighting function to safely tow our trailer. It's going to give us both turn signals, our running lights, brake lights and our ground. It's going to provide us with 4.2 amps per circuit for stop and turn signals, 7.5 amps per circuit for our tail lights.

It's also going to have an attached dust cap to keep any dirt and debris off of our connections when we're not using it.Pretty simple and straightforward installation. You're gonna plug it into the factory wiring on the back of your tail lights and then run your power wire up to the battery. Now that we've gone over some of the features, let me show you how to get it installed. To start our installation we need to open our hatch. You're going to have a panel on the inside of each tail light. Take a flat head screwdriver, we're going to remove this plastic screw here.

Pull this panel off. We're going to take the 10 millimeter socket and we're going to remove these two nuts. Then we're going to gently pull back on our tail light. Go ahead and unclip your wiring from the tail light itself. We're going to have a tab right here on our plug, push down and pull out.

And we'll set our tail light aside. We're going to repeat that same process on the other side of the vehicle.Next we're going to take an airline to something stiff. We're going to go right down behind our bumper fascia. Should come out right on this outside of our exhaust. If you don't have a wire hanger or something like that, what I like to use is a piece of string and a nut or bolt.

We're going to drop it down, it's gonna come out right at the bottom. We're going to take our wiring harness and we're going to take the end with our yellow wire on it. And I like to do something like that and pull it like that. And we'll pull it back up.Once you get it up, match your plugs and reinstall your tail light. That's inaudible 00:02:40 box. I'm going to mount it right on the side of this here. Just want to make sure the area is clean. Your kit is going to come with some two sided tape. Let's put that on, press it into place. Stick it right on there, put some pressure on it for a couple of seconds. Next thing we're going to do is we're going to mount our ground wire, make sure it's on metal, not on any plastic. I'm going to mount it right here to the bottom of the vehicle.Next we're going to take our 12 gauge black wire, we're going to unroll it, we're going to strip one end, take our heat shrink inaudible 00:03:26 that comes in our kit and we're going to add it to the black wire coming off of our wiring kit. Then we'll take a heat source and shrink that up.Next we need to run our green wire with the red stripe over to the passenger side and our four pole wire right here to the premounted bracket on our hitch. The way I did this, because we have dual exhaust, is I went up over top of the bumper beam bracket that's mounted to the back of the vehicle. Went up over the top of it, I dropped my four pole wire down this heat shield that's pretty loose, ran my green wire across, went over top of the bumper beam on this side and we dropped down right here. Now we'll take this, we'll take it up to our passenger side, hook it up to the back of our tail lights the same way we did our driver's side. Our four pole wire, what we're going to do is I'm going to pull it back up behind my heat shield here. And I'm going to add a four pole bracket around to the back. What this is gonna do, it's going to give your wiring a more permanent mounting location. It's going to come with the hardware to get it installed. Gonna have a couple of self tapping screws or you have two bolts with nuts.Once you get your four pole bracket mounted, go ahead, insert your four pole wiring. You're just going to push it in until it's in there. Put on your cover. And our extra wire here in the back, we have our muffler here so what I'm going to do is I'm going to actually try and zip tie it as far forward as I can above this heat shield right here. But onto my hitch.Next we want to run our power wire to the front of the vehicle. Want to make sure we're staying away from anything hot or moving. Ran it across, went over the top here, over the top of my rear axle. We have our fuel tank, went to the outside of it, which is going towards my driver's side. And you're not going to see the wire because it's underneath all these panels. A couple ei
