Well, There is nothing wrong with both universities. Its just that NUST is updated. If you look at rankings NUST tops UET. So, Ok first you should know what actually ranking is. Ranking comprises of major portion of research carried out at the university at Post-graduate level (at undergrad level research carried out is low).

So, in my opinion the student that enters in both universities have different objective.

Majority of the students entering UET have an aim to get good job in industrial sector after Bachelors. so they dont opt higher studies, mainly because of the background they have. I mean UET fees are almost 1/3rd of NUST and so majority has an aim to go to industry and settle there.

Whilist at NUST ,majority student can easily think of higher studies, means to say that he is already paying a lot more fee than UET, so why he would strive for a job that is worth 40k/ month. So the students their contibute to research in higher studies and that what makes I guess NUST high ranked.

So, To sum up if you want to join industry after Bachelors then you should opt UET becasue UET Lahore still have stronghold in industrial sector.

And if you are passionate about higher studies, then you should join NUST because it will give you opportunities.
