UN Rights Chief Calls On States To Challenge Israel Over Occupation | Dawn News English

The UN human rights chief, Volker Turk, has called for an end to the war in Gaza, citing Israel's "blatant disregard" for international law.

Nearly 41,000 Palestinians have been killed in Gaza since October 2023. Turk urged countries to act on Israel's occupation, deemed illegal by the UN top court.

He also highlighted global challenges, including crises in Sudan, Afghanistan, and Ukraine, and denounced the increased use of the death penalty and regressions on gender equality.
