The value of asking questions: Reina Reyes at TEDxDiliman

Описание к видео The value of asking questions: Reina Reyes at TEDxDiliman

Reinabelle Reyes is a 29-year-old astrophysicist who astounded scientists all over the world when she led a Princeton University research team in 2010 to prove how galaxies up to 3.5 billion light years away are clustered together, in exactly the way that Einstein's General Relativity predicts. They came up with a new astronomical measurement, which indicates how galaxies are pulled together by gravity, just as Einstein theorized.

In this inspiring TEDxDiliman Talk, she chronicles her journey into science, passionately demonstrates why it's a wonderful time to be a scientist in the Philippines, and by her example, shows why it is important to nurture not only our children's, but also to rekindle
own natural desire to ask questions.

In the spirit of ideas worth spreading, TEDx is a program of local, self-organized events that bring people together to share a TED-like experience. At a TEDx event, TEDTalks video and live speakers combine to spark deep discussion and connection in a small group. These local, self-organized events are branded TEDx, where x = independently organized TED event. The TED Conference provides general guidance for the TEDx program, but individual TEDx events are self-organized.* (*Subject to certain rules and regulations)
