The singer and guitarist Matt Drenik’s solo project from Austin, Texas, known as Battleme played a live set at JBTV studios that included the hit song “Shotgun Sons” from the 2014 album Future Runs Magnetic [El Camino Media]. Drenik may be better known from his band Lions, but Battleme has found plenty of success on its own since the project’s beginning in 2009. Drenik’s Battleme songs have been featured on multiple episodes of Sons of Anarchy, The NHL 13 video game, as well as a commercial for PGA golf. Future Runs Magentic was produced by Ghostland Observatory’s Thomas Turner and was well received by critics, further proving that Battleme is more than just a side project for Drenik.
