Government and the development partners have launched the Development Initiative for Northern Uganda, which is aimed at bringing about development in the region.

The program will focus on consolidating peace, eradicating poverty and under-nutrition and strengthening the foundations for sustainable and inclusive socio-economic development.

The entire project will run in 33 districts in from Lango, Karamoja, Teso, Acholi and West Nile for the next 6 years at an estimated to cost of 665 billion shillings.
