James "Mac" MacCormack, former Head Coach of MAD Lions and new LEC Head Manager for Team Vitality, is the star of the 328th Episode of 'Reflections'. This episode is part two of three about Mac's career.

Mac began as part of Peter Dun's coaching staff in Splyce, where the team was a semi-finals level LEC team and made Worlds the second year. After that, Mac received more responsibility as the organisation rebranded to MAD Lions and he began 2020 with a bunch of rookies and Humanoid. The team was again at the contender point domestically but could not convert and sadly bombed out of Worlds in play-ins, to everyone's embarrassment.

In 2021, Mac's MAD Lions defied all expectations to win both LEC splits back-to-back, in the era of a G2 super-team no less; took DAMWON to five games in the MSI semi-finals and reached the quarter-finals of Worlds, again losing out to DAMWON.

The sale of Humanoid, the star Mid laner of the team, saw MAD Lions forced to rebuild for 2022 and the first split was a bust. With Nisqy joining, Mac was able to right the ship and both reach the play-offs of summer and qualify for Worlds. Alas, it was another play-ins nightmare for all involved.

In 2023, MAD again began with lots of question marks around them only to make the final of the first split and win the Spring split and go to MSI. In summer the team tanked for a few weeks only to get it back together for the LEC Season Finals and again qualify for Worlds.

Mac has won three LEC splits (2021 Spring, 2021 Summer and 2023 Winter), attended MSI twice and qualified for Worlds five straight years. He has now moved over to coach Team Vitality.

In part two, Mac talks about his ego after a championship year in 2021, being humbled by failing to make play-offs in S12 Spring, rookie UNFORG1VEN and the teams' issues at Worlds, Elyoya staying in MAD and the risks of picking up Hylissang.

This interview was recorded on the 3rd of December, 2023.
