I recently added this GMWD leg machine to my home gym. I had very limited space, so I wanted to get a machine that was dual purpose and I thought that this machine would fit the bill. Since this is one of the most popular leg machines, I thought I would give you my reviews on it.

With this machine you can do leg extension, leg curls, hip thrust and abs.
First off, the machine was very easy to assemble. It took about 40 minutes to put together and the instructions were very easy to follow, I’d give the assembly an 8/10.
The machine is fully adjustable. From the seat, to the back rest, to the lever arm, to the push pad and the seat restraint pad. Regarding the adjustability, I give it a 10/10.
The padding on the machine is also better than
I was able to test the resistance, and with a 45 pound plate on the machine, I got 44.6 pounds of resistance, so it provides a 1:1 weight ratio. With my bumper plates, I was able to get 115 pounds on the machine with a weight clamp, without the clamp I can get 150 pounds on it, with steel plates you could obviously get more weight than that on the machine. The machine is capable of loading up to 300 pounds. Capacity wise, it provides more than enough resistance for my needs. Regarding capacity and how the resistance feels, 10 /10.
In some of the other reviews I had seen, people mention that the push pad seems to bend out slightly. I also noticed this on my machine, the right leg is out a bit further than the left leg. The machine actually isn’t bent though, it comes from the bearing assembly. That being said, I don’t notice that my left leg is working harder than my right leg. When using the machine, if I weren’t looking at it, I don’t think I would even notice this. The resistance feels spread out evenly among both legs. That being said, I will likely exercise one leg at a time most of the time anyways, so it wouldn’t be an issue regardless.
I’ve seen other people ask how the machines rocker arm held up when loaded with weight. I loaded it up with weight to test it here and it seemed nice and stable.
Leg Extensions on the machine feel great. I’d give this exercise on the machine a 10/10.
Leg curls also feel great. I give this exercise on the machine a 10/10 as well.
Hip thrust on this machine is doable, but not ideal. I feel like I may be too big to do this on this machine. For reference I’m 5’11”. For hip thrust, I give it a 4/10. I like the barbell better, but if you don’t have one, this will get the job done.
Abs on this machine works pretty well though, I was pretty pleased with this functionality and would give it a 7/10.
I was able to get this machine while it was on sale for $234 dollars, at that price, this machine is an absolute steal. It’s now going for $299 on Amazon and even at the price, I think it’s an absolute bargain for the quality and versatility you can get from it.
My overall score for this machine is 8.5/10.
