A natural non hydrocarbon based fuel that is totally recyclable. Hydrogen and oxygen are separated from water by heating it to over 5,600 degrees Fahrenheit. The heat comes from an electric arc between two graphite electrodes. The temperature of the electric arc is over 12,000 degrees Fahrenheit. The carbon in the electrodes form carbon nano tube structures. Hydrogen and oxygen at over 5,000 degrees would recombine into water with a violent explosion if it were not for the carbon nano tube structures. These structures capture both the hydrogen and oxygen preventing there recombination. The surrounding water quenches the hot resulting gas.
Resulting fuel gas specifications: 1200 BTU per cubic foot. Hydrogen has only 300 BTU per cubic foot. Weight per cubic foot, .024 pounds. Octane rating, over 120. .002 grams of Carbon Monoxide per horsepower per hour. Gasoline gives off 141.21 grams per horsepower per hour. Between 7 and 12 percent oxygen in the exhaust per hour.
Testing of the gas at National Technical Systems using GC/MS method, found no matches with their library of 138,000 chemical compounds.
Products of combustion are high temperature steam, 12% oxygen and CO2. Since Carbon Monoxide can not be used by plants, this reduces the output of oxygen and the resulting build up CO2 in the atmosphere. Carbon Monoxide must be burned to convert it to CO2. The excess oxygen and the lower temperature of exhaust gases will reduce the CO so that more CO2 can be used by plants and lower the Green House effect of it's buildup.
