Tim Renwick is an acclaimed English session guitarist and musician, born Timothy John Pearson Renwick on August 7, 1949, in Cambridge, England. He grew up influenced by the Beatles and the Rolling Stones, learning acoustic guitar at age 17 while attending school alongside future Pink Floyd members Syd Barrett and Roger Waters—a connection that would later shape parts of his career. Renwick turned professional in the late 1960s, starting with bands like The Wages of Sin, Little Women, and the Jackie Lomax Band before co-founding Quiver, a folk-rock group that merged with the Sutherland Brothers to form Sutherland Brothers & Quiver. This partnership brought chart success in the US and Europe during the 1970s, with Renwick serving as lead guitarist on several albums.

Renwick's playing style—blending rock, folk, and blues—earned him a reputation as a reliable collaborator with rock royalty. He's one of the few musicians to perform with both Roger Waters and the post-Waters Pink Floyd lineup.

Renwick released a self-titled solo album in 1980 on CBS, featuring tracks like "Dark Island" (which peaked at No. 80 in Australia when issued as a single). In 2007, he compiled *Privateer*, an instrumental album available through Audio Network and his website. His broader discography spans hundreds of credits as a session guitarist, including contributions to albums by China Crisis, Jennifer Rush, and Five Star. You can stream his music on platforms like Spotify and Apple Music, where highlights include "Colé's Song" and "Dawn Returning."

Now in his mid-70s, Renwick remains active as a freelance guitarist, with a personal website (timrenwick.com) showcasing his history and portfolio. He's praised for his understated, classy tone, particularly on Richard Wright's 1996 solo album *Broken China*.
