Toro Rosso STR1 F1 Cosworth V10 Raw Sound at Mugello Circuit: Start Up, Accelerations & Fly Bys!

The STR1 was the car used by Scuderia Toro Rosso in the 2006 Formula 1 season. Despite the new regulation that required the use of the then new 2.4L V8 engines, Toro Rosso took advantage of a concession to assist less well funded teams by avoiding the cost of sourcing a new supply of V8 engines. The STR1 was so a modified 2005 Red Bull RB1 coupled with the same Cosworth engine (a TJ2006 3.0L V10) used during the 2005 season but rev limited and power-restricted for 2006. This characteristic makes the STR-1 the last F1 car ever to be powered by a V10 engine.

For quite a few years now it's has possible (and still possible) to watch and hear one of the STR1 chassis singing again during some rounds of the BOSS GP (Big Open Single Seaters) series, driven by Ingo Gerstl of the Team Top Speed. In this championship you can find some old Formula 1 cars racing together with GP2s, World Series, F3000 or Auto GP formula cars meaning it's one of the best sounding racing series nowadays.
