Bhattu Kalan is a town in the Fatehabad district of Haryana, India. It lies about 239 kilometres (149 mi) northwest of the capital, Delhi. The total area is 100 square kilometres (39 sq mi) and it is 203 metres (666 ft) above sea level. It is near the borders with Punjab and Rajasthan.
India is a democratic and secular country, and people of different religions and castes live together peacefully. The ancestors of Benazir Bhutto, the former Prime Minister of Pakistan, were from Bhattu Kalan. The town is named Bhattu because it was the home of the Bhutto family before the Partition, after which 99% of the family migrated to Pakistan.
Agriculture is important to the local economy; common crops include cotton, juar, wheat, nuts, mustard, and vegetables. Bhattu Kalan hosts Haryana's second-largest grain market. It is a small, peaceful place with a good lifestyle. It is fully developed and boasts a literacy level of 90%. Dangal, kabaddi, football and cricket are well-enjoyed by the people here.
