抟土造人，化生萬物；製禮嫁娶，繁衍人類；創造笙簧，娛樂眾生。煉五色之石以補天，折神鳖之足立四極，平洪水殺猛獸，廣施恩澤惠蒼生。大圣大慈，大悲大願，人祖根源，混元無極，媧皇聖母天尊。

「媧皇寶誥」乃道教中用於讚頌女媧娘娘之豐功偉績與崇高地位。女媧娘娘，又名媧皇、女皇、女帝等，娘娘以慈悲為懷，見世間空曠寂寥，遂以黃土為基，依照自己之模樣，巧妙地捏製出了人類之雏形，賦予了他們生命與靈魂。創造人類之過程中，她一日之內竟能七十化變，不僅化生萬物，每日還能創造出至少七十樣不同之物品，因此，女媧娘娘被尊稱為“大地之母”。相傳初創世界天塌地陷，世間陷入混亂，她還勇敢地與那些危害人間之惡獸猛禽進行鬥爭，最終將它們一一制服或消灭，確保了生靈之安全。為了穩固天地，女媧娘娘熔煉五色石來修補蒼天，還重新樹立了四極天柱，平整了大地，使得萬物得以在和諧之環境中生長繁衍。女媧與伏羲血親相婚，他們是人類第一對夫妻，伏羲氏和女媧氏分別代表了不同之氏族。他們共同建立了婚姻制度與規矩法度，使青年兩性相互婚配，繁衍後代，因此也被傳為婚姻女神。常聆聽或唱誦「娲皇寶誥」祈願女娲娘娘保佑子嗣綿延，婚姻美满，平安喜樂。

The 'Wa Huang Bao Gao' is a sacred hymn in Taoism used to extol the extraordinary achievements and exalted status of the divine Empress Nüwa. Also known as Wa Huang, Nü Huang, or Nü Di, she is revered as a compassionate deity who, upon witnessing the emptiness and desolation of the world, fashioned humankind from yellow earth, molding them in her own image and breathing life into them. With miraculous speed, she could assume seventy different forms in a single day, not only giving birth to myriad creatures but also creating at least seventy new objects daily. Thus, Empress Nüwa is celebrated as the 'Mother of the Earth.’ Legend has it that in the chaotic early days of creation, when the heavens collapsed and the earth quaked, she valiantly battled and vanquished the monstrous beasts that threatened humanity, ensuring the safety of all living beings. To stabilize the cosmos, Nüwa melted five-colored stones to mend the broken sky and re-established the four pillars of heaven, leveling the earth and providing a harmonious environment for all things to flourish. Nüwa and Fuxi, her blood brother, were the first human couple, representing different clans. Together, they instituted the marriage system and established laws and customs, uniting young men and women in matrimony and ensuring the continuation of the human race. Consequently, they are also revered as the deities of marriage. Reciting or chanting the 'Wa Huang Bao Gao' is a common practice among devotees seeking the blessings of Empress Nüwa for bountiful offspring, harmonious marriages, and enduring happiness.
