Lijiang, in Yunnan 丽江，云南, near Tibet, at 8,000 feet altitude, is the most place Sue and I have ever seen. The variety and abundance of flowers is otherworldly, the wood and stone architecture is like right out of a museum, and the people are delightfully friendly. We have to show our Health Pass everywhere, and and had problems at first getting it to work on our phones, but in both the airport and in Old Town, the officials were patient, helped work it out, and even apologized for the inconvenience! This is our first visit to Lijiang during our 3+ decades in China, but hope it is not the last.
