Bogus Basin: POV Learner's Permit to Student Rider Top To Bottom Green Flow Trail

Описание к видео Bogus Basin: POV Learner's Permit to Student Rider Top To Bottom Green Flow Trail

This video is a top to bottom run off of the 'Morning Star Express' Chairlift, where we connect 'Learner's Permit' to 'Student Rider'.

In this video, we narrate what we are riding, throwing in some small tips on how we are keeping it flowy and smooth. Check out this sneak peek of what to expect and some of the available lines throughout these trails.

'Learner's Permit' is brief, but this segment has several bends, banks, a roller, and a berm. It is a great small segment to check how your body and bike feel at the beginning of the day. At the beginning of your day, we recommend connecting 'Learner's Permit' to 'Student Rider' as we did in this video.

We continue to narrate our trip down at a moderate pace as we connect to 'Student Rider'. Our focus is on flowing with the trail to avoid using our breaks. The goal is to use the speed the trail gives you, and store that speed it in the pockets of the trail when it is not needed. Of course, if you get going too fast, some slight engagement of the breaks is never a bad call, but do your self a favor and stay in control by not locking up your brakes. When we approach corners, we aim to brake before the corner begins, entering as wide as we can, opening up the radius of the turn riding the outside edge until we start to lose speed. At that point, we roll the bike and bodyweight to the inside of the corner, descending through the turn, exiting to the inside rather than the outside. This skill is the basis of bike park riding. Being able to lean your bike while maintaining tractions and resisting the urge to brake will make your riding progress to the next level.

The majority of 'Student Rider' is made up of berms that are not too steep, but as you get towards the end, the trail gets faster. Remember that as you pick up speed, continually engage your brakes in a consistent fashion rather than locking them up. This will provide greater control of your speed and bike, allowing you to reach the appropriate speed before entering corners.

Once you have made it down 'Student Rider', make your way back to the lift and give it a couple more tries. A great goal to work towards on this trail is to make it down the whole trail without pedaling. To do this, you will need to find some of the not so obvious pockets in the trails to pump speed, or store speed so that you can avoid using your brakes or pedals.

Once you feel that you have this trail dialed, move on over to 'Berm Baby Berm', which is accessed from 'Yellow Brick Road'.
