Video: TUSAŞ Successfully Launches Second Prototype of Hürjet, Turkey’s First National Jet Trainer

Türk Havacılık ve Uzay Sanayii (TUSAŞ or TAI) announced the successful inaugural flight of the second prototype of the Hürjet, Turkey’s first national jet trainer. This achievement marks another step forward in developing the aircraft designed to train high-performance pilots.

According to TUSAŞ, the first Hürjet prototype has already completed over 140 successful tests, validating various functions of the aircraft. In its maiden flight, the second prototype stayed in the air for 26 minutes, reaching an altitude of 10,000 feet (around 3,000 meters) and a speed of 200 knots.

In tribute to TUSAŞ employees who lost their lives in the October 23 terrorist attack, their names have been painted on the fuselage of the prototype.

TUSAŞ continues to advance the Hürjet’s development, positioning Turkey among the countries capable of producing next-generation jet trainers.
