With iOS 18 and later, Apple has introduced a new privacy feature that allows you to hide apps—including dating apps—using Face ID. This makes it easy to lock and conceal apps directly from your iPhone without needing any third-party tools. Whether you're trying to keep certain apps private or just declutter your home screen, this built-in option is a major improvement for user privacy.

To begin, make sure your iPhone is updated to iOS 18 or above. This feature is not available on earlier iOS versions. Once your device is updated, locate the app you want to hide. For example, if you want to hide a dating app like Tinder, Bumble, or Hinge, follow the same steps demonstrated here using Facebook as a placeholder.

Long-press on the app icon until the quick action menu appears. Tap on 'Remove App,' and instead of deleting it, choose 'Hide and Require Face ID.' You'll be prompted to authenticate using Face ID. Once verified, the app will be hidden from your home screen and the App Library—it won’t show up in Spotlight Search either.

To access the app later, scroll down to the bottom of the App Library and find the 'Hidden' section. Tap it, authenticate again with Face ID, and you’ll see all hidden apps listed there.

If you decide later that you no longer want the app to be locked or hidden, long-press the app within the Hidden section, select 'Don’t Require Face ID,' and it will reappear on your home screen and in the App Library like any normal app.

This feature is ideal for keeping dating apps discreet and securely protected with Face ID.
