The Class 700 - Thameslink's Commuter Train

On Friday the 28th of August, I headed to Cambridge to take a ride on one of Thameslink's Class 700 Desiro City trains. These were constructed by Siemens between 2014 and 2018 for the Thameslink programme and have been in operation since June 2016.

1. The length of a 12-car unit lies at 242.6 metres
2. There are 427 and 666 seats for the 700/0 and 700/1, respectively
3. The trains have been in service since the 20th of June 2016
4. They were constructed by Siemens between 2014 and 2018
