Our Lady of Kibeho appeared in a small village in Rwanda beginning in 1981. Three teenage girls reported apparitions of the Blessed Virgin Mary and were mocked, threatened, and accused of deception — even by clergy. Yet the apparitions continued, and the message grew more urgent.

During these visions, Mary revealed terrifying images of hatred, bloodshed, and a nation destroying itself. She pleaded with the world to repent, pray the Rosary, and return to God, warning that hardened hearts would lead to catastrophic consequences.

Twelve years later, Rwanda descended into one of the most horrific genocides in modern history.

In 2001, the Catholic Church officially approved the apparitions of Our Lady of Kibeho, making it the only Marian apparition in Africa recognized by the Vatican.

The message of Kibeho was not one of fear, but of mercy.
Mary did not come to terrify the world.
She came to save it.

The call of Our Lady of Kibeho remains urgent today: repentance, conversion of heart, prayer, fidelity to the sacraments, forgiveness, and reconciliation.
