Long Road To Savannah - Contos Demo 1994 LA & Florida


After leaving the Phantoms in early '94, I made a big circle on my Harley through Florida, New Jersey, Wisconsin & Sturgis, South Dakota before riding full circle and back into Southern California. I wrote and recorded this on a brand new technology at the time known as an ADAT (Alessi Digital Audio Tape) system at Casa De Gideon in Los Angeles late one night while everyone else in the house slept and then bumped it to a regular cassette. I didn't want to wake anyone, so I played and sang as soft as I ever have and from the heart. I later recorded this as an instrumental with Lisa Oldham singing vocal melodies instead of lyrics on my Spirit Jam - Stranger Within CD but this version here has the original lyrics as recorded the night I wrote it.
