We spent a few days slow traveling in San Salvador, the capital city of El Salvador. If you have only a couple of days in this city, go explore the historic center on the first day. On the next day, take a trip to El Boqueron National Park to see an extinct volcano with two craters!

Is San Salvador safe to travel?

San Salvador used to carry the burden of being called one of the most dangerous cities in the world. However, now they are working on changing that perspective. We traveled around the city in public transport and never felt unsafe. In fact, many Salvadorans went out of their way to come to check with us if we need anything.
