According to the report of the news agency, the child had fallen into a borewell at around 3 pm on Friday afternoon in Manika village, bordering Uttar Pradesh, when he was playing there. Officials had earlier said that he was trapped at a depth of about 40 feet.

The borewell in which the child had fallen was in the field of a person named Hiramani Mishra where wheat was being harvested with a harvester. That borewell was dug for water but because there was no water in it, it was left open.
