We kicked off our 9th annual #2025GAReentryAwarenessMonth in Columbus, GA where we hosted 4 events to engage with the justice impacted community, their familes and the community at large. Journalist Ashlee Williams shadowed us at a few of our events and did an amazing job on sharing our mission and events with the Columbus, GA community. We appreciate Ashlee for her professionalism, transparency and compassion but more importantly, for respecting the population we serve and respecting our request to not use dehumanizing language in her reporting when referring to the commuities we serve. Society depends heavily on the media and the media has a tremendous influence on how society sees people and how stigas and narratives are shaped so we are eternally grateful for Ashlee for using humanizing, person centered language because we are PEOPLE first and ALL people deserve humanity and diginity.

Reentry Awareness Month events in Columbus, GA

July 1st. 10a-2pm. We hosted a 100% criminal record friendly job & resource fair where we had over 30 employers and community resource agencies table to share their job openings and services.
Juy 1st. 6p-8p. In partnership with Fair Count and VoteRiders, we hosted by our 3rd annual Ballots and Bites voter education and fellowship dinner
July 2nd. 12p-2p. We treated up to 20 justice impacted people and their family members to lunch at Old Times Country Buffet to connect and fellowship
July 6th. 10a-12:30p. We closed the week out with Sunday worship and a catered lunch at Greater Beallwood Baptist Church to support justice impacted people and their families who have been shunned by faith communities and places of faith.
