With the advent of streaming services, it would be no surprise that a child's first exposure to Robin Hood would come from Disney.
Howard Pyle wrote The Merry Adventures of Robin Hood for children, specifically his own if it didn't find success.
But, it did.
Sympathetic in purpose, Disney took Pyle's version of Robin Hood and set it to music with anthropomorphic animals. Many of the changes that Pyle incorporated into the character were further popularized by the animated feature with the most important being Robin's elevated adherence to valor and honor.
