This August pro-Palestine protests continue in South Africa, after the confirmation of Israel's biggest coal supplier halting all coal exports. South Africa is Israel's third biggest coal supplier, behind Russia and Colombia. Multiple South African unions and pro-Palestine groups gathered in Melrose Arch outside of Glencore's head offices to pressure the mining giant to stop their supply of coal to Israel. Protesters are hedging South Africa's political history with sanctions as key to influencing the rest of the world to follow suit.
