Here's how you can initiate a force restart of you Fitbit Versa 4. A normal restart can be done if the screen on the watch is responsive.

A force restart, however, may be necessary when the watch is frozen or stuck in a deadlock, with the screen unresponsive. The physical button can therefore be used to achieve this goal.

How To Force Restart Fitbit Versa 4:
Press and hold the power button until the watch vibrates and the screen goes off. The Fitbit logo will appear, at which point you can release the power button and the watch will turn back on. This means a force restart has occurred.
