From the A-list crowd one would have thought it was a splashy Hollywood film premiere Monday night at Pier 54. But the usual red carpet was replaced with a more elegant black carpet and it was for guests at the Marc Jacobs fashion show -- what many referred to as "the show to see."

Marc Jacobs is New York's darling, so when he throws a fashion show you can bet that Manhattan's A-list will turn out to support him.

But even by his own standards last night's line-up was a stellar affair.
