 A fan-favorite Sci-Fi series is proving itself a major streaming hit on Netflix. Projects like Severance, Silo, The Mandalorian, 3 Body Problem, Foundation, Dark and more have shown the power of Sci-Fi TV shows over the past few years. With better CGI and higher budgets thanks to streaming services, they have been able to rival some of the best Sci-Fi movies.  Netflix knows how Sci-Fi is a genre worth exploring, as the streamer has made moves in both the TV Show and movie realms to deliver compelling Sci-Fi projects. One of those is none other than Stranger Things, which has become Netflix's flagship series. The Netflix original series finds itself on a list that includes a hit Sci-Fi series that has been licensed to Netflix.  According to FlixPatrol, Rick and Morty is now Netflix's 5th most-watched TV show worldwide. The rest of Netflix's top 5 TV shows at the moment include Cashero, Man Vs Baby, the returning Emily in Paris, and Stranger Things, which recently concluded its 5-season run with a 2-hour-plus finale as one of the most popular series of all time.   Rick and Morty is trending worldwide, with the show ranking among the 10 most-watched series on Netflix in 44 countries. At the moment, the animated series' highest position is 2nd, reaching that spot in four countries: Austria, Germany, Latvia, and Lithuania. Rick and Morty ranks 4th in the United Kingdom, with the show not available on Netflix in the United States.  Instead, fans can find the popular Sci-Fi series nationwide on HBO Max, where all eight seasons of Rick and Morty are now streaming. The raunchy animated series has already been renewed for seasons 9 to 12, with the Sci-Fi show coming back for at least an additional four seasons. Rick and Morty season 8 premiered on May 25, 2025.  Rick and Morty has a 90% critics' score on Rotten Tomatoes.  Season 8 aired weekly, ending on July 27, 2025, after ten episodes. Rick and Morty season 9 updates were revealed on September 25, 2025. During a Reddit AMA, executive producers Scott Marder and Steve Levy revealed new details about the show and when the animated series should return.
