Replacing A Blacked Out Display - LCD - Climate Control Assembly: 1993 Lexus SC300

The dreaded and infamous blacked-out climate control LCD on my 1993 Lexus SC300 has finally been replaced after all these years. This video also covers replacing back light bulbs for the LCD and buttons, removal of shift knob, center console surround, and the climate control unit. However, this video does not teach you how to solder. There are lots of great soldering tutorials that can be found on YouTube.

Notes for Automatic Transmissions: To remove the shift lever knob, slide down the shaft collar to reveal two screws. Remove these screws and lift the shift knob upwards.

This video covers SC Models 1992-1996.

1 Glass LCD for A/C Control Assembly (40 pin; fits years 1992-1996 Lexus SC300 / SC400) with 6 bulbs 12V (I bought this kit off eBay for $39)
