In this video, we offer one of the options for adjusting the camera image for license plate recognition at night. Options may vary depending on lighting and camera location.
At the beginning, you see how the camera works with standard settings (the headlights are blind and the number cannot be recognized).
For setting we will use the “Profile” night profile, select the “Night” option. Next, turn on the manual mode, which allows you to set manual shutter parameters. To do this, go to the “Exposure” sub-item, look for the “Mode” section and select “Manual”. In the video you can see that in the “Shutter” section at the very bottom of the list there is “Customized Range”, and we select it. The next step is to specify the optimal value for “sharp” frames - “Shutter” 0-5 ms; "Gain" - 0-25.
We move on and in the sub-item “Blacklight”, “Mode” enable the function “HLC” (highlight compensation).
The next item for setting “Day & Night” is to turn on the “B/W” mode.
For stable license plate recognition at night, it is recommended to adjust the IR illumination manually. We do this by going to the “Illuminator” item, selecting “Manual” and increasing the value of “FarLight” to 68. Save - “Save”.
Turn on the day/night switching schedule, as shown in the video (“Profile Management”, “Schedule”). Set the hours for the day profile (the rest of the time the night profile will work) and save - “Save”.
Go to the "Live" tab and check the operation of the camera with the specified settings
