Solstice Reverie

When Sol doth reign with gilded beams so bright,
And verdant fields in splendor doth array,
The earth itself doth whisper of delight,
As day o'ertakes the dark of fleeting May.

A transformation wrought by golden fire,
As leaden days of yore to gold now turn,
In nature's crucible, our hearts conspire,
For in the blaze of summer, all things burn.

The sun, in zenith, casts his potent spell,
On creatures great and small, both near and far,
From morn till eve, the warmth doth rise and swell,
As if the heavens opened wide their jar.

Thus let us praise this season's peak and prime,
Where life doth bloom and flourish 'neath the skies,
In summer's grace, we glimpse the eternal rhyme,
A glimpse of truth that in our spirits lies.
