HBV Meeting: Interview with Professor Fabien Zoulim

We sat down with Professor Fabien Zoulim at the 2022 International HBV Meeting. Professor Zoulim is the recipient of this year's HBV Research Award and a huge asset to the hepatitis B community.

In this video he speaks to the patient community about the need to be aware of the vast amounts of drug discovery and clinical research going into hepatitis B. The process seems slow, but this is normal for any type of disease. There are many types of drugs available and in development and the main question is how to combine them in the best way to improve the functional cure rate. We are in a situation where we can be hopeful knowing that there will be some failures along the way.

He suggests that the patient community should stay in clinical management with their doctors and to take advantage of clinical trials whenever possible. Be aware of new developments and have access to new developments as they are available.
