Presented by the UCLA Center for the Study of Women, Thinking Gender is a public conference highlighting graduate student research on women, sexuality and gender across all disciplines and historical periods.

This session is entitled "(Not) Rising to the Occasion: Impotence, Illness, and Femininity in Literature Past and Present" and was moderated by Helen Deutsch, English, UCLA.

The UCLA Center for the Study of Women is an internationally recognized center for research on gender, sexuality, and women's issues and the first organized research unit of its kind in the University of California system.
